The Walking Dead did KILLER last night at the 40th annual Saturn Awards! The Saturn Awards are put on by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films and took place in Burbank, CA on 6/26/14.
Melissa McBride (Carol Peletier) won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series, Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) won Best Performance By a Younger Actor in a Television Series, the show itself won Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series, and ON TOP OF IT ALL, Greg Nicotero also won a special honor called The George Pal Memorial Award.
The only downside? David Morrissey, who was nominated for Best Guest Star in a Television Series, lost to Robert Forster in Breaking Bad. Ah well, still a good fight fought!
Plus, in what was the cutest thing ever, Kyla Kenedy (Mika) presented an award to Scott Gimple. Below, her instagram photo (featuring a… hyena?)
‘Bout time we see some serious show props!
Agreed! It is time for lame stream award shows to acknowledge the Dead. Actors, writers and everyone in between.
Recognition is better than none at all, no matter what the source.
The hyena totally photobombed Kyla’s pic. 😉 lol
On a serious note, congratulations to Melissa and Chandler. Well deserved.
congrats !
It’s ridiculous that this is show is virtually ignored at the Emmy’s, SAG Awards, etc.
